“We began the process of building a custom home with Phil about a year and a half ago and are over the moon with the results. I should start off by saying that my husband and I are first time home builders so we do not have much to compare the process with but I am confident that if we were to do it again we would gladly work with Phil.
Positives - Detail orientated, listened to my ideas and worked with me to achieve them no matter how out of the ordinary they were, I felt Phil was a great guide considering we were first timers, very responsive, I actually felt I learned a great deal throughout the process as I would ask for explanations of the build process often, he had many suggestions that I valued, he was very concerned with us being satisfied throughout the process, I genuinely felt very comfortable working with Phil. I am sure I could go on...
Negatives - I wish I sat down with Phil in the very beginning and asked for a detailed overview of the process, I think being a first time builder I did not completely understand the process and sometimes I became overwhelmed with the amount of decisions and vendors to visit. At one point I slowed the process of the build because I felt I could not keep up, Phil likes to stick to his schedule but he halted things so I could catch up.
I felt Phil was very responsive to my calls and emails (even on a few weekends), he also made it very clear we could meet anytime to discuss any concerns and held to that. For a period we met weekly to discuss progress and questions. I would say responsiveness was one of his strongest qualities.
I am incredibly happy with my house in every way. I feel the quality is sound. Our first year of living in the house is not yet over but Phil has been very attentive to my concerns post build, sometimes going above and beyond his scope of responsibility. He has made it very clear that he is proud of the product he produces and wants my family to be just as satisfied and proud. It is a nice feeling.”
